SaaS Homepage Headline Formulas (with Examples)
Your headline has one job: tell the right visitor what they get, fast. Use these formulas, then test them.
Formulas
- [Outcome] without [pain]. "Close your books without spreadsheets."
- [Product category] for [specific audience]. "The CRM for solo recruiters."
- [Verb] [thing] in [time]. "Ship a changelog in 5 minutes."
- Stop [painful task]. Start [desired result]. "Stop chasing invoices. Get paid on time."
- The [fastest/simplest] way to [job]. "The simplest way to collect testimonials."
- [Audience]: [outcome] with [mechanism]. "Shopify stores: recover carts with SMS."
- Turn [input] into [valuable output]. "Turn support tickets into a help center."
- [Number] [users] use X to [outcome]. Only with a real, verifiable number.
- Your [role]'s [tool], minus the [annoyance]. "Your team's wiki, minus the clutter."
Rules of thumb
- Name the audience or the outcome, ideally both, plus a subhead explaining how.
- Avoid vague words: "platform", "solution", "supercharge", "next-gen".
- Read it to a stranger. If they can't say what you sell, rewrite.
- Write 10 versions, pick 2, and A/B test or ask 5 target users.
